In this assignment, the idea was to design a restaurant in an empty building, based on a certain concept. As the building is located next to an art site, I chose to work around the concept of 'pop art'.
The spiral wall in the middle of the restaurant symbolises the dynamism and playfulness found in pop art. Through this central wall, different places with their own experience are created. The table tops also reflect this dynamism.
In addition, typical pop art colours such as green, blue and yellow were used.
The most important materials are: concrete, polyethylene, pinewood, perforated gyproc and chrome.
The concrete symbolises the factory and mass consumption: the basis of pop art.
