The assignment for the graduation project was to convert a former theatre into a contemporary hotel with a catering function, meeting rooms and wellness. A visual interaction between building and interior and a coherence between atmosphere and materialisation are important starting points.
For this design, the target group (families who love nature and want to relax) and the extravagant characteristics of the building are central, creating a contrast between peace/nature inside and an extravagant outer shell. A husk, as it were, is created: “Touched by the outside, finding peace within.”
